Special delivery: Blankets warmly received by Welcome Home

Through your congregation’s generosity, you filled our empty shelves and made a huge, positive difference.

Julie Plaut, Executive Director, Welcome Home

Volunteers at Welcome Home in West Newton were thrilled to receive 40+ blankets (most new) and eight Target gift cards to be given to families who are struggling financially.

The 50 blankets were collected during October with support from the Mission Commitee, in honor of the church’s 150th anniversary. The blankets were blessed on October 30, 2022. The special blanket delivery took place on November 3.

Julie Plaut, Welcome Home’s executive director, sent the following note:

“I was not able to be at the drop off this morning but right after you brought the blankets, texts and emails started coming in from excited volunteers who had been on the drop-off shift.

“When I arrived at Welcome Home an hour or so later, I was practically moved to tears by the dozens of beautiful blankets that are now on our shelves, that weren’t there when I left yesterday.

“THANK YOU SO MUCH!

“On behalf of all of us at Welcome Home–including our volunteers and clients–please know that through your efforts and your congregation’s generosity, you filled our empty shelves and made a huge, positive difference.”

Thank you to all who helped make the blanket drive a success!
