Worshippers gathered on Sunday, February 27, 2022, for prayer and reflection.
The service included several musical selections, including two portions of Partita #6 by Johann Sebastian Bach; the anthem “I am Bound for the Kingdom,” sung by the senior choir; “A Song of Peace: A Patriotic Song,” which is a poem written by Lloyd Stone and Georgia Harkness, set to the melody “Finlandia” by Jean Sibelius; and “Melody,” written by Myroslav Skorik.
Mr. Skorik was a noted Ukrainian composer who earned the titles People’s Artist of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine; his first name means Glory to Peace.
