As part of Newton Highlands Congregational Church’s 150th anniversary celebration, we will be donating 50 new or like-new (free of rips or stains) blankets in sizes full, queen, or king to Welcome Home, a home goods pantry in West Newton. Welcome Home provides basic household items along with kindness to area neighbors who need help furnishing their households.
According to volunteer drive manager Rachel Pemstein, large blankets are the most requested item at Welcome Home. “We provide most clients with a blanket. Quality is dignity, so we ask that all blankets be in pristine condition.”
Bring new or like-new (no rips or stains) blankets to NHCC, or simply order them here from Target.
The NHCC-Welcome blanket drive, with support from the Mission Committee, will run from Sunday, October 2, 2022–with a kick-off at NHCC’s 150th anniversary party–to Sunday, October 30.
