After members of the Confirmation class lit candles to mark the second Sunday in advent (December 10, 2023), Dr. Anna McMahan reflected on ways to regain inner peace. Dr. McMahan, who provides family medicine in a busy practice with a sizable refugee and immigrant population, said she uses prayer to stay in the moment during tough days at work.
The service also included a baptism and a meditation from the Reverend Ken Baily. He spoke about people’s resistance to change and ways to seek calm during Advent.
