So then, my brothers and sisters, when you gather to eat, you should all eat together.
1 Corinthians 11:33
About 25 Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, members and friends gathered for dinner in the church parlor on Friday, February 7, 2025, in honor of Black History Month.
Diners feasted on chicken wings, catfish strips, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread provided by Park 54.
Guest speakers were David Stamps, chair of Families Organizing for Racial Justice (FORJ), whose mission is to ensure that Newton is an anti-racist city; and Jacqueline Badeau, one of the organizers of Newton’s annual Juneteenth celebration.
The dinner was organized by Tann Scott, a member of the Worship & Spiritual Life Committee, with help from Moderator Sally Brickell. Donations to underwrite the cost of the dinner are welcome.
