November 2023
Finding ways to express gratitude to God
This month we will make sandwiches, bake pumpkin pies, and celebrate our “Thanksgivings,” with days of prayer–thanking God for all we have.
Here is our schedule for November.
- Sunday, November 5, 10:00 a.m., We will gather in the kitchen to make sandwiches for our neighbors at Community Day Center of Waltham.
- Sunday, November 12, 10:00 a.m., Jesus taught his followers a parable about how to be a good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). What does it mean to be a “Good Samaritan” or a neighbor? It is easy to be nice to people who treat us nicely, but loving our neighbor means loving all people, even those who are tough to get along with. Jesus told his followers, “Go and do likewise.” How can we do what Jesus instructed us to do in today’s world? Let’s begin practicing how to be a good neighbor today.
- Sunday, November 19, 10:00 a.m., NHCC children and youth will roll up their sleeves to make fresh pumpkin pies in the church kitchen for Newton families. Last year, with the help of all the children, youth, and Christian Education Committee members, we had a great time!
- Sunday, November 26, 10:00 a.m., Intergenerational worship. Nursery care will be available.
