Community Choir enhances April 28 service

Newton Highlands Congregational Church’s Senior Choir welcomed interested visitors to join them in late April 2024.

Curious vocalists attended a rehearsal on Thursday, April 25, and then donned robes and gathered in the choir loft as the Community Choir on Sunday, April 28. Even the Reverend Ken Baily, an accomplished singer, joined the group.

“It has been a wonderful experience this year to sing with new singers!” stated Music Director Jan Zimmerman. “On Sunday, the choir was blessed to have several returning singers in addition to two singers visting from my former choir in Connecticut.”

The group’s choral offering on April 28, 2024, was “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” (Wilberg).

During the service to support the stewardship campaign, new member Annie Ingram spoke about what drew her family to the church.
