Easter explored in April service

Jesus said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.”

John 20:29

Congregants gathered at Newton Highlands Congregational Church, UCC, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, to continue exploring the message of Easter.

The service opened with the choir singing “I Come to the Garden Alone.”

Children received golden Easter eggs from Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell; she talked about the importance of giving.

In his message, the Reverend Ken Baily spoke about having faith and acting faithfully. “We get better than what we deserve in the Easter story,” he said. “We get what God thinks we deserve — the best.”

He urged worshipers to act on their faith by helping neighbors. “We have quite a lot to do with how folks treat each other,” he said.

For the postlude, organist Yevgenia Semeina played “Trumpet Tune on Darwall’s 148th” (J. Stanley).
