Call to Worship

*Gathering Hymn #138 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!

*Prayer of Invocation and Petition
One Voice: Psalm 78 begins this way, as God says– “Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our ancestors have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of our God: mighty and wonderful.” Let us pray together to God.
All: Wondrous God, our whole world needs the hope that comes from the promise that we know in you. Send it to us please.
Creator God, in these days– in this place, we need your infusion of inspiration for the daily needs of our neighbors and ourselves. Inspire us anew, we pray. Spirit God, we hunger for the peace that passes all understanding in our souls and in our nations. Share your Spirit with us, as you will.
Throughout everything, God in three persons– and our one God, renew our psuché (psoo-khay), our souls, as we open our hearts, our homes and our days to serve our sisters and brothers, in Jesus’ way, Amen.
