Restored organ to be celebrated Saturday, February 24

All are invited to a musical celebration featuring Newton Highlands Congregational Church’s restored Hook & Hastings pipe organ on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., in the church sanctuary at 54 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands, MA.

Musicians will include organist Yevgenia Semeina and members of the church choir, under the direction of Jan Zimmerman. Pieces by Dieterich Buxtehude, Léon Boëlmann., Dominick DiOrio, and César Franck will be performed.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices are as follows: $50: Adults; $30: Seniors; $20: Students; Free for children under 5. Proceeds will be donated to Cash for Refugees, a nonprofit whose mission is to “provide dignity and hope to forcibly displaced people in Ukraine.”

Organ repairs were begun in 2018, were interrupted and delayed by the Covid pandemic, and resumed and were completed in late 2023.
