Reverend Baily represents NHCC in larger community

In his leadership role for the Newton Interfaith Clergy Association, the Reverend Ken Baily attended a small-group Zoom meeting with Congressman Jake Auchincloss on June 14. The meeting was organized by Demie Stathopolos, climate and racial justice activist; and attended by Mayor Ruthanne Fuller; City Councilors Alicia Bowman and Andreae Downs; Dana Hanson, Congressman Auchincloss’s district director; and a variety of community leaders.

The group discussed infrastructure (such as a sustainable energy grid), the use of bikes and electric cars, a sustainable transportation future, financial legislation, equity in housing, and building Black wealth. Here at NHCC, housing the homeless and keeping the creation are two of three central mission values, hence this conversation.  For us, these are elements and issues of our Christian faith.

Ken spoke also at the virtual 47th annual Mayor’s Community Breakfast on May 26, 2021.
