Women honored on May 12; Pledge Sunday marked

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.

The women of Newton Highlands Congregational Church (NHCC) were celebrated during fellowship time on Sunday, May 12, 2024. The special event was organized by Director of Christian Education Wendy Donnell and hosted by the Christian Education Committee.

The Stewardship 2024: Sacred Spirits, Caring Community Pledge Sunday service saw the collection of seven pledge cards. Several pledge emails have also come in.

Stated treasurer Jim Harper, “Through today we’ve received 16 pledges totaling $113,250.”

Longtime member Marian Reynolds spoke during the service about her connection with NHCC. Hymns for the worship service included “I Sing the Mighty Power of God” and “My Heart Sings Out with Joyful Praise.”
